With its distinctive spherical design, The Pearl Akoya reflects Cabasse’s long-standing expertise in acoustic enclosure design. This shape helps control the rear wave generated by the driver, reducing unwanted reflections and contributing to a cleaner, more natural sound reproduction.
Its tri-coaxial driver and dedicated bass speaker deliver powerful, precise and immersive sound, while the compact format allows the speaker to integrate seamlessly into contemporary interiors.
Designed and developed at Cabasse’s factory in Brittany, France, The Pearl Akoya brings high-end acoustic technologies into a refined wireless speaker. Its name, inspired by the small Japanese Akoya pearl, perfectly reflects the combination of compact dimensions, elegant design and remarkable acoustic performance.
Tri-Coaxial Driver
Cabasse’s expertise in coaxial speaker technology is taken a step further with The Pearl Akoya’s three-way tri-coaxial driver. Three drivers are integrated into a single acoustic unit: a 17 cm membrane dedicated to low frequencies, a 13 cm membrane handling the midrange, and a central dome reproducing high frequencies.
By combining these three drivers on the same axis, The Pearl Akoya delivers exceptionally coherent and precise sound across the entire frequency range, with a natural and immersive presentation.
3-way amplification and high-resolution DAC
The Pearl Akoya features a powerful three-way amplification system, with each section of its tri-coaxial driver benefiting from dedicated amplification. The 17 cm bass driver is powered by a 450-watt amplifier, while the midrange and high-frequency sections each receive 300 watts. This 1,050-watt RMS configuration allows The Pearl Akoya to deliver a powerful and dynamic sound with exceptional control and precision.
The integrated digital-to-analog converter supports high-resolution audio signals up to 24-bit/192 kHz. Based on the renowned Asahi Kasei AK4490 DAC, it ensures accurate and detailed digital-to-analogue conversion, contributing to the rich and refined sound signature of The Pearl Akoya.
Wi-Fi and streaming
The Pearl Akoya is designed for seamless wireless listening, with Wi-Fi connectivity and the Cabasse Stream CONTROL app providing access to popular streaming services such as Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer and Qobuz. The app also gives access to internet radio and music stored on a local network, NAS, DLNA server or Roon system, as well as audio files stored on a smartphone or tablet.
Multiroom and room calibration
The Cabasse Stream CONTROL app allows The Pearl Akoya to be integrated into a multiroom audio system, with multiple speakers controlled from a single device. Each speaker can play the same music throughout the home or different content in each room.
The app also allows each speaker to be acoustically calibrated according to the characteristics of its room, helping achieve a more balanced and precise sound. With Apple AirPlay 2 compatibility, The Pearl Akoya can also be combined with other AirPlay 2-compatible devices, regardless of brand, for a flexible multiroom setup.
The Pearl Akoya can also be controlled by voice through a smartphone or a compatible Google Home or Amazon Alexa device, providing convenient hands-free control of your listening experience.
